My work has been accepted for the opening show at The Forge Gallery and Studio in Worthing. I had applied sometime back and thought the opening was to be in October. However the work needs to be in Worthing before the 11 September, which you can imagine has put me in a bit of a quandary, what’s to go to Worthing and what now to show for SAW. I am however very pleased to be joining them at this exciting time.

I managed to get to meet Kate and Will at Great Western House and seeing the Gallery space I have got at the Shaksheare Glass Gallery and Studio has helped me make my mind up. I will give The Forge a choice of what they want to show, and then choose from the latest works that are left to show for SAW Arts Festival 2013. I will also be showing some of the works from ‘through the mists of time’
Two New Glass Showrooms
Is synchronicity at work here! two glass studios both established businesses both moving to new premises and I am showing in the opening of both of them! I wish both ventures all the best in their new showrooms and studios and thank them both for the opportunity to be a part of their opening.
I have been working my little socks off since the last post, I managed to finish the two naughty boards and a further three pieces. I now only have five in WIP one of which a 30”x30” piece I am putting the final touches too and it should be finished in a day or two.
When I plastered the four remaining boards I decided that was the last time I will plaster boards here; it was a nightmare nothing went well; and the mess! So I resolved if I cannot find somewhere to plaster other than here I am going back to canvas or un-plastered board.
The final four are underway with the grounds painted; I just hope they all behave themselves as I have no time for any more naughty boards. I would like to finish them very soon so I can put all of the finished work before The Forge for their selection.
So please wish me luck I am going to need it.
‘late summer Provence’ was one of the naughty boards that I have had to redo. Once again I am unsure what part of my psyche is at work, nevertheless it is finished
‘a summer day’ this board also had to be reworked and reminds me of a worm gentle summer’s day
‘untitled’ I feel the landscape is finding its way back into my work with this one, but can’t find a title for it yet.
That’s it for now I hope you can get to Venue 48 where Shakspeare Glass and eight other SAW Members and myself are showing. I know you will enjoy the show.
