Settling in

Settling in

well; I think I am settling in and have been working quite well, certainly better than I was.  I am not tempted to go check my emails and other things on the computer now.  Now when I have a break (with a fresh coffee) I sit contemplating the work in progress; or just look out the window at the view of the levels: which is ever-changing.

I have been doing quite a lot of small pieces and have found that quite therapeutic; especially the abstract ones.

These four pieces are on paper, something I rarely do as I find it hard to get the finish I want when I work on Paper.  Nevertheless I think they work quite well given how small they are; 4″ x 6″ with 6×8 mounts and 6″ x 6″ with 9×9 mounts.

I also did a landscape triptych; although they are not really representing anything; I was inspired by the colours and felt I needed to use them.  They are on panel and are 8″ x 8″ each.

and there’s more!

six of them 6″ x 6″ on panel, once again it was about colour and feeling. Like the pieces on paper they were fun to do; I have called them ‘party in a petri dish’

The large panel is now finished

I am not at all sure I know what it is all about, it is quite different from anything I have done before.  I have spent quite some time contemplating it and wondering if indeed it is finished.

So all in all I have been very busy, and found that by the time I arrive home I am too tired to work on the computer, so have neglected this blog.  Although I know things will be better now the initial period of settling in is over and I will be back to posting once a week again.
